Why are my bin collections changing again?

Collecting and disposing of rubbish and recycling is a significant cost to Walsall. The changes that were made in October 2016, when we began collecting grey bins every other week, saved almost £1 million per year but we need to reduce the cost of collecting rubbish and recycling even more.

We are doing this by working longer days, meaning we will need fewer bin wagons to collect the waste. We have also re-organised the collection rounds so the day and week your grey and green bins are emptied may be changing. This should save a nearly £150 000 per year, in addition to the savings already made.

Working longer days means we will start collecting bins earlier!
From Monday 6 November 2017 your green and grey bins must be out by 6.30am
